Eckerd Community Alternatives is dedicated to quantifying, tracking, and continuously improving the well-being, satisfaction and performance outcomes of our system of care. Tremendous progress has been made since Eckerd became the child welfare lead agency with performance indicators, stakeholder and client relations, and communications improving significantly.
Eckerd Community Alternatives has made tremendous progress to ensure safety and timely permanency for children in care.
New systems have been put into place to address safe and timely permanency for children in dependent care, and placement stability for foster children has significantly improved. Lengths of stay have been reduced along with an overall reduction in the number of children in out-of-home care. Cost savings realized from these reductions have been reinvested into primary and secondary prevention efforts to help strengthen families and reduce the unnecessary removal of children from their parents. Eckerd has also been able to reduce the time it takes for these children to be adopted, and overall adoption rates have increased. In fact, record numbers of children have been adopted every year under Eckerd’s system of care.
